How PinMonkey Shop Works

My Stuff is the starting view. House items and Garage vehicles are organized together. The dashboard also surfaces what needs maintenance attention and what was recently completed. Quick Fuel is there for logging a fill-up without leaving the overview.

A House record is for household equipment. You can save a nickname, equipment category, manufacturer, model number, serial number, location, purchase date, install date, purchase price, warranty expiration, and notes. The record is saved to the signed-in account.

A Garage record is for a vehicle. You can save the vehicle type, year, make, model, trim, engine, current mileage, license plate, and VIN. Tire-pressure notes are optional. Purchase date, purchase price, warranty expiration, and notes are available too. VIN decoding is optional and separate from entering the vehicle by hand.

Opening a vehicle shows its details in one workspace. The areas are Overview, Schedule, History, Fuel, Files, Repair & Parts, Safety recalls, and Consumer complaints. Safety recalls and consumer complaints stay in separate places. Consumer complaints are not official recalls.

A House item has the same idea with household fields: equipment category, manufacturer, model number, and location. Its workspace includes Overview, Schedule, History, Files, Repair & Parts, and Safety recalls. Household recall checks are covered on Safety & Recalls, including the rule that a possible match is not proof the exact product is recalled.

A custom maintenance task can include a title, importance, description, an interval in months, an interval in miles, an optional next due date, an estimated cost, and recommended parts. You can also ask PinMonkey for suggestions and then review them before they become part of the schedule.

The schedule shows tasks that need attention, including a short description and due information. From a task you can mark it complete or open outside resources such as a repair guide, parts search, parts stores, repair videos, or repair shops. Those actions point elsewhere. They do not mean PinMonkey performs the repair or sells the part.

Completing a task adds a history record and updates the next due values. You can record the completed date, mileage when the asset uses it, cost, service provider, parts replaced, and notes. A receipt can be attached afterward from that asset’s Files tab.

History keeps evidence of work that was completed, including cost when you entered one. Completed records can be corrected, but not deleted. Records that are not linked to a schedule cannot be edited from this view. Correcting a record does not mean PinMonkey certifies that the work was done.

Garage vehicles can record fill-ups: date, time, odometer, fuel type, price, quantity, whether the tank was filled completely, and station or driver notes. Fuel economy is calculated from the entries you save. PinMonkey tells you when there is not enough data yet, such as before a complete fill-up interval exists. Changing US or metric display does not rewrite the stored values.

Repair & Parts keeps part references for that asset. A reference may be a generic part type or a more specific suggestion, and it may be labeled with a confidence note. Verify fitment with the manufacturer or seller before ordering. PinMonkey Shop does not sell these parts. You can refresh recommendations or remove a saved part. The maintenance record stays in PinMonkey.

Vehicle recall results use official NHTSA information for the saved year, make, and model. The screen states that those results do not confirm whether your specific VIN is affected or has an unrepaired recall. Use NHTSA’s VIN search, or the manufacturer, to verify that vehicle. A list of campaigns is not a statement that every listed campaign applies to one VIN.

If you decode a VIN, PinMonkey can show information NHTSA received from the manufacturer and propose changes to year, make, model, engine, or other supported fields. Some fields may be missing. You review the proposal first. Nothing changes until you choose Apply to vehicle. VIN decoding does not verify recall status.

Settings lets you choose System, Light, or Dark, and US or metric units. Those choices are saved in the browser. The screen also explains that vehicles, home items, maintenance records, and saved information are private to the account. Where installation is available, the browser manages it. PinMonkey does not add a separate installer on this screen.
